The staff of the Units of Inscriptions and Mirrors of the Engineering Maintenance Department finished decorating of the internal walls of the holy sanctuary of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), to add more aesthetic to the spirituality of this holy place through the special reflections and colors used, while preserving the old form of mirrors and walls in the holy shrine.

The head of the Mirrors' Unit Mr. Hassan Sa'eed Mahdi has explained to Al-Kafeel Network: "The works have included as usual, the removal of the damaged mirrors and treating the walls' cracks and then arming it with BRC then covering with the mixture of fiber and plaster, to become a in a stronger form and ready to plan carvings for the mirrors on it. As for the recently established lighting in form of a star, there was some changes made through making the surrounding frame in aluminium to be stronger and more beautiful after it was made out of iron."

He continued about the accomplished mirrors works, saying: "The accomplished works are the arches located in the gate of the Euphrates ['Alqami], the gate of Imam Mohammad Al-Jawad (peace be upon him) and also the Quranic inscriptions in the holy dome down to the arches surrounding the holy tomb, and also from the door of the shrine's roof up to the gate of Um Al-Baneen (peace be upon her) and the works are continuous until we finish all mirrors works in the holy sanctuary."

Indicating: "The Mirrors Unit's staff have made great efforts as the works need great accuracy in the execution. And they were working in two shifts, 7 hours for each shift."

Stressing that: All that is performed by the staff from the pacification, design and maintenance works is done by Iraqi hands whether in terms of technical or engineering details. And the works were conducted in a continuous way without any impediment to the movements of the visitors coming to perform the Ziyarat of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him)."
