The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine: 9869 is the number of the visitors were lost during the Ziyarat Arba'een and who were handed over to their families.

The official of the Communications Division at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; Engineer Firas Abbas Hamza announced that the number of missing persons, those who were registered in our centers for guiding the lost and missing persons (the 35 centers scattered on the roads leading to Karbala) reached 9869 visitors, between 3775 missing persons (the missing persons reported lost by their family) and finding 6694 lost persons (those found by our centers), most of which were handed over to their families.

And he added: "The issue of finding the lost and missing persons is considered a very important issue, especially for the children and the elderly, because of the large reward of relieving the worry of those in need, and the reward is larger when it is related to the visitors of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and because of the large numbers of visitors, a number of them lose some of their relatives and they are worried while searching for them until they find them."

Adding: "The two holy shrines have taken the responsibility to provide the service to guide the lost and missing people and to deliver them to their families. Great efforts have been exerted to provide this service, in which a number of the departments of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine participate, including the department of stores, the department of service affairs with the support of the department of engineering maintenance, the department of intellectual affairs, the department of education and the division of investment and other departments, and with a large support of the division of the visitor's guide at the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), which provided the database systems in addition to the department of the two holy shrines, al-Kafeel Omnia company, directorate of communication and information at the Ministry of Interior, the Karbala Health Department and "Earthlink" company through their agent in Karbala, and also the support of the Guiding Center for the Lost and Missing persons in Najaf (non-governmental organization). This great work was carried out in cooperation between the Communication Division and the University Relations Division in the Public Relations Department.

Engineer Firas continued: "This service project has evolved over the years from the deployment of a few tents here and there to the deployment of specialized centers of more than 35 centers to guide the lost and missing people spread over the roads of Najaf, Babylon, Baghdad and the city center, as well as the new centers in the border points and the airport, in cooperation with the holy shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and some of the processions and institutions supporting this project. These centers are equipped with the latest means of communication, computers, screens, cameras and other information technology systems, as well as providing centers to shelter the list people whose relatives did not find them for more than 12 hours, run by volunteers from Iraqi universities students from different provinces."
