Crowds of the believers head to the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) to extend their condolences to him form the martyrdom anniversary of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household).

During these days, the Islamic nation commemorate the anniversary of the martyrdom of the savior and guide of mankind, the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and his holy Household), who was martyred on Monday 28th of Safar in the year 11 AH at the age of 63 years after being given a deadly poison, according to the famous narrations.

Therefore, the crowds of visitors head from all Iraqi provinces including the holy city of Karbala to the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful; Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them) in Najaf to extend their condolences for the martyrdom anniversary of his brother and cousin; the Master of all creations, the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household).

Crowds of visitors determined to commemorate this sad occasion, have travelled from many provinces and regions, most of them on foot, to Najaf. A large number of foreign visitors who did not leave Iraq since the Ziyarat Arba'een, the beginning of last week, have participated along the Iraqis in extending their condolences to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).

For its part, the holy shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) has harnessed all its efforts to the serve the visitors coming to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Great Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), especially that the Ziyarat is witnessing the influx of hundreds of thousands of visitors to the holy shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Najaf to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), amid high security and service measures by the holy shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and the security and service departments of the province.

Also, a large number of Hussayni processions were installed along the roads leading to the holy city of Najaf to serve the visitors of the holy shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) after ending their free services to the respected visitors of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) during the Ziyarat Arba'een.

It is worth mentioning that the martyrdom anniversary of the Seal of Prophets and messengers; Mohammad Ibn Abdillah (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) was on 28th of Safar in the year 11 AH, and he was then 63 years old. And the narrations have urged on performing the Ziyarat of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them) to extend their condolences to him on the martyrdom anniversary of his beloved brother and cousin the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household).
