The office of his Eminence; the Supreme Religious Authority; Sayed al-Sistani announces that tomorrow Friday November 9, 2018, will be the first day of the month of Rabi' Awwal 1440 AH.

The statement issued by the office of his eminence is stating that the crescent moon sighting of the month of Rabi' Awwal 1440 AH was approved.

Thus, after the prayer of the prayers of Maghreb and Isha of this day 29th of Safar 1440 AH, corresponding to November 8, 2018, the black flags of the two holy shrines' domes of Imam al-Hussayn and of his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) were replaced by the red flags announcing the end of the sadness season in the months of Muharram and Safar.
