The first International Conference on Medical Sciences at al-'Ameed University

The first International Conference on Medical Sciences, under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Jamal Abbas Mohsen al-'Adeli, was held at al-'Ameed University of the Department of Education in the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, on the November 25 - 26, 2018, under the slogan: "Excellence and Leadership in the Medical Sciences for the Advancement towards Globalization", with the participation of 30 medical speciality colleges from six countries: Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, Britain, USA. In addition to the participation of 81 research in various medical fields.

The opening ceremony, which was held on the central hall of the university, began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran recited by the reader Haidar Gelokhan, followed by reading al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of the popular mobilization and security forces, then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine "tune of pride". Then, the Secretary General of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Engineer Mohamad al-Ashigar presented his word emphasizing the importance of the research and scientific development, specifically in the medical field.

Followed by the word of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research delivered by the President of Karbala University' Prof. Dr. Munir Hameed al-Sa'di, followed by the President of the Conference and the President of the al-'Ameed University; Prof. Dr. Jassem al-Marzougi, who indicated that the al-'Ameed University sought to enrich its central library with all educational means according to the latest scientific programs.

At the end of the ceremony, the honorary shields were distributed to the personalities present at the conference, followed by a series of lectures about medical specialties, as follows:

1) The first conference entitled: Global Differences in Cardiac Care for Children, delivered by Professor William Novak, Professor of Surgery, Health and Childhood, University of Tennessee, USA.

2) Second lecture of the conference, entitled: Recent developments in stem cell research, delivered by the teacher professor at the University of Tarabian in Iran, Professor Taqi Turaihi.

Then came the opening of medical exhibitions, such as books and medicines and posters, to conclude the first day with a series of scientific medical research sessions.
