The Department of Engineering Maintenance provides the Department of Education at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine with its needs of office furniture.

The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine used to buy all the furniture needed by its Department of Education and Higher Education for its schools, but now the Department of Engineering Department at the holy shrine is manufacturing all that is needed by the previous department according to specific plans and specifications, because of the development and expansion of the al-'Ameed Schools Group.

Engineer Abbas Musa explained the following: "Our blacksmithing workshop and the MDF have covered all the needs of the department without having to buy them from the market, which make the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine spare the money and the time, in addition to quality and durability. Among the manufactured furniture:

- School chairs,

- Teachers' chairs,

- Closets for the students and teachers,

- Office furniture for the schools' administrations,

- Bookshelves."

He added: "In addition to other equipment manufactured in the workshops according to the need of the department, and the technicians of these units carry also maintenance works for all furniture."

It is noteworthy that all these works were carried out using local and imported raw materials of high quality and efficiency, in accordance with the fluctuations of the Iraqi weather. And thanks to the efforts of these workshops, the following was achieved:

1- Self-sufficiency of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in the fields of carpentry, blacksmithing and aluminium.

2- Provide employment opportunities for Iraqi skills in these industries.

3- Spare large sums of money previously spent on buying finished products of these industries.

4- Dependence on local experience in the implementation of the designs.

5- Using less time.
