The Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital organizes a scientific workshop on the treatment of obesity in cooperation with German medical company INGENIOUS.

As part of its series of scientific activities aimed at keeping abreast of the global scientific development in the medical field, and in order to gain experience and develop it for its medical staff, the Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine organized, in cooperation with the German medical company INGENIOUS, a scientific workshop on the effects of obesity and the techniques used to solve its problems.

The workshop, which was held in the main meeting hall of the hospital, witnessed the presence of specialists in this field from the hospital, the Karbala Health Department and other directorates. There was an extensive discussion of the most advanced and modern surgical techniques used in the field of obesity treatment. Noting that the Al-Kafeel Hospital has conducted many successful surgery operations in this speciality.

Dr. Laith Al Sharifi, Surgery Specialist at the Al-Kafeel Hospital and Dr. Jarrah Hassan Wahbe from Lebanon, provided a detailed explanation of the surgical techniques used in the treatment of obesity, supported by a video presentation and a field tour of the hospital to get briefed on the techniques used in the stomach surgery operations.

INGENIOUS Medical Company has presented the latest medical devices that can help treat this health problem.

Dr. Laith Sharifi has stated to Al-Kafeel Global Network: "For the fourth consecutive year, the Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital adopted the establishment of courses and workshops, and today our workshop is to emphasize the fact that Iraq is the only country in the Arab world that has fellowships in obesity surgery, which make us willing to establish the Iraqi Society for Obesity."
