Al-'Ameed University holds a scientific symposium entitled "The role of Iraqi medical libraries in achieving the goals of the sustainable development 2030."

Al-'Ameed University of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held on Wednesday 11th of Rabi' Thani 1440 AH corresponding to December 19, 2018, a scientific symposium entitled "The role of Iraqi medical libraries in achieving the goals of the sustainable development 2030." in the main hall of the university in the presence of specialized figures and professors from inside and outside Iraq.

The symposium began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Surah al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad "Pride's tune". Followed by the word of the university's president; Dr. Jasem al-Marzougi. And then the word of the Vice President of the Arab Federation of Libraries; Dr. Saif Ibn Abdallah al-Jabri.

The symposium also included the presentation of three lectures; the first was of Mr. Waseem Taleb Mahdi from the Center for Learning Resources (Central Library) in the al-'Ameed University, entitled "Indicators of the quality of the library services". The second was of professor Hassanein al-Musawi from the Center for Indexing and Information Systems of the Library and House of Manuscripts at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine entitled "The sustainable development in the Iraqi medical libraries". And the third was of Dr. Ikram al-Jabouri from Baghdad University - Faculty of the Canadian medical College, entitled "The free method to reach the electronic sources of information of high quality".

Then Dr. Ikram al-Jabouri retrned to present a workshop on Iraqi medical libraries. The symposium was then concluded with the distribution of shields and gifts to the participants.
