Al-Kafeel Center for Production and Artistic Photography wins three awards in the international Afan competition.

Two photographers of the al-Kafeel Center for Artistic Production and Photography of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, namely Samer al-Husseini and Haidar al-Mankouchi, won three advanced prizes in the AFAN International Photography Competition held in Saudi Arabia, organized by the Gulf Photographers Center under the auspices of the World Photography Union and the American Society of Photography and a number of international sponsoring organizations.

The competition was attended by 1709 photographers from 122 countries, in which the photographer Samer al-Husseini won the first place in the portrait, while the photographer Haydar Al-Mankouchi achieved second place in the same axis as well as the Medal of Honor in the axis of travel.

The head of the IFAN International Competition, Majdi Nasr Al Nasr, praised the Iraqi participation in the competition, noting: "The Iraqi works participating in this edition of the competition, were characterized by simplicity."

He added: "Iraqi works often appeal to the taste of jury, because it is characterized by the strength of work in terms of the content and the message, which does not require the recipient to search to understand beyond the story of the picture".
