The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine participates in the Fourth International Karbala Children's Book Fair.

The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, represented by the Division of Childhood and Youth, and the al-Joud Animation Center of the Internet Division, participated in the 4th Karbala Children's Book Fair held by the Department of Childhood Care and Development at the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in the area between the two Holy Shrines from the 20th and 28th February 2019.

The exhibition, which opened on Wednesday, 14th of Jumada II 1440 AH corresponding to February 20, 2019, with the participation of six countries (Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait, Iran and the United States of America). The fair includes more than 20 pavilions between a publishing house and an educational center for the development of talent. This edition is characterized by the organization of a number of new events such as a number of competitions for children.

Director of the Childhood and Youth Division at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Mr. Sarmad Salem, spoke to the al-Kafeel international network about the participation of the Division in this exhibition. "Our participation in this edition of the exhibition was through selected books of the children's magazine "Rayaheen", which gives cultural, social and developmental thoughts that imitates the child in a literary style that is easy and simple, in addition to religious ideas that promote the work according to the Islamic concepts that the Islamic religion urges us to."

He added: "Our participation also included the presentation of selected numbers of the Haidara magazine aimed at the boys’ category, which promotes self-confidence among the boys, as it includes many heroic stories that cultivate patriotism and devotion in the children, in addition to other lessons."

"Our participation in this edition of the exhibition was also characterized by a series of stories related to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), as well as animated stories' series that discuss the most important humanity lessons that the Islamic religion orders us to follow."

Mr. Ahmed Talib Abdul Amir, Director of Al Joud Animation Center said: "The center is participating for the first time in this exhibition. The aim of this participation is to present its two and three dimensional animation products in order to spread interest among the children to guide them to how to build their personality ".

He added: "The content of this animation includes a number of serials and cartoons that deal with the life and stories of some imams (peace be upon them) and a number of companions (may God bless them), as well as some series of social, developmental and religious goals that contribute to the building of the child's personality and his correct Islamic education."
