The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held a festival celebrating the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima (peace be upon her) in collaboration with Sumer University.

Within the framework of the series of activities carried out by the Department of University Relations of the Public Relations Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, which is part of the activities of the al-Kafeel National Project for Youth, the annual celebration festival on the birth anniversary of the immaculate Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her), was held on Wednesday 21st of Jumada II 1440 AH corresponding to February 27, 2019 for the fifth consecutive year at Sumer University, in the large presence of its student as well as the deans of the faculties and heads of departments.

The ceremony, which was held in the main hall of the university, began with a wonderful recitation of the verses of the Holy Quran, followed by recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the martyrs of Iraq, and then listening to the Iraqi national anthem as well as the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; "Pride's tune".

Then the speech of the President of the Sumer University was delivered on his behalf by Dr. Abbas al-'Uqabi, Dean of the faculty of Management and Economics, followed by the word of the guest delegation, which was delivered by Sayed Mohamad al-Musawi from the Department of Religious Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.

After that, the dialogue seminar included in the festival began between the delegation of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and the students of Sumer University.

In the end, the delegation of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine was honored by a commemorative shield by the University of Sumer. The delegation also honored the presidency of Sumer University for its contribution to the success and continuity of the festival.

The festival also included an exhibition of cultural products and publications of the Department of the intellectual and cultural affairs and the Department Islamic and human knowledge affairs of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
