The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine represented by the Center for Indexing and Information Systems of the library and house of manuscripts in it, and the Faculty of Arts at Mustansiriya University has concluded the activities of the first international conference on information and libraries, organized under the title: (Knowledge organization in the digital environment) in cooperation with the Arab Federation of Libraries, on Thursday 22nd Jumada II 1440 AH corresponding to February 28, 2019, in the Hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) with the participation of a number of researchers and professors from various Iraqi, Arab and international universities.
The closing ceremony started by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and reading Surat al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, then listening the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine "Pride's tune". Then, there was the word of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, delivered by a member of its board of directors and the head of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs; Sayed. Laith Najm al-Moussawi.
This was followed by the speech of the Director of the Indexing Center of the Library and House of Manuscript at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Mr. Hassanein al-Moussawi, in which he presented the most important projects carried out by the Center during 2017, as well as the most important international participations in which the Center participated outside Iraq, as well as announcing the new projects such as the index of the Iraqi authors, which includes more than four thousand Iraqi author, including the biography of each author and his writings and where one can find them.
Then the recommendations were issued by the participants and were announced by the scientific assistant to the Faculty of Arts at Mustansiriya University; Professor Dr. Faleh Mahdi Ghazali.
The closing ceremony also included a short film showing the name of the library and the house of manuscript at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in the international libraries that applied the modern cataloging rules (RDA) at the International Federation of Libraries and Information Conference held in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.
At the end of the ceremony, the participants in the festival and researchers who came from various Arab and international countries, were honored.
