The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine launches the fifth Cultural Festival of Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) to celebrate his birth anniversary.

Under the slogan "Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) the keeper of knowledge and the utmost example of magnanimity", the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine launches the fifth edition of the Annual Cultural Festival of Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) on Saturday morning 1st of Rajab 1440 AH corresponding to March 9, 2019 in the Hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), with a large presence of delegations, religious, academic and cultural figures, as well as the representatives of the holy shrines, led by the Senior Official of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine; his eminence Sheikh Abd al-Mahdi al-Karbala'i.

After the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and reciting Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq and listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, there was a word for its General Secretariat delivered by Head of the Religious Affairs Department; Sheikh Salah Al-Karbalai.

This was followed by a speech of the participating guests, delivered by His Eminence Sayed Muhammad Sadiq Al-Khorasan, who said: "We still need to learn more from the knowledge of the infallibles (peace be upon them)."

After that, the audience heard the poem of the poet Sajjad Abdul Hamid Al-Musawi about Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him).

Then the first research session, which was chaired by Dr. Sarhan Jafat, was opened, including reading the abstract of the research entitled: "The jurisprudence characteristics of the Imam Al-Baqir School, example of the ablution".

This was followed by the interventions and questions of the attendees, to which the researcher answered and clarified. Then the morning session was concluded and the research sessions will resume this afternoon with the participation of a number of researchers.
