The opening ceremony of the festival, which was hosted by the shrine of Sayed Idris (may Allah be pleased with him) in Baghdad, witnessed the attendance of delegations of holy shrines, delegations representing many parties, religious figures and a large number of visitors. It stated by the recitation of verses from the Holy Book of Allah, and then reading Surat al-Fatihah while standing in memory of the martyrs of Iraq. Followed by the speech of His Eminence Sheikh Tariq al-Baghdadi, representative of the supreme religious authority, who welcomed the attendees and mentioned a number of the hadiths about the Waleed al-Ka'bah [he who was born in the Ka'bah]; Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and thanked all participants for their efforts in establishing this festival.
Then Sheikh Mohsen al-Asadi from the Religious Affairs Department presented the word of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
During the festival, the poet Najah Al-‘ersan sang his poems. The opening ceremony was concluded with the song "My master O Imam" by the Jawadayn troop from the holy shrine of Imam al-Kadhem and Imam al-Jawad (peace be upon both of them). The two-day festival included an exhibition with the participation of the pavilions of the General Secretariat for the holy Mazars and shrines and a number of institutions, the pavilion of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine by a representation of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs and the Department of Islamic and Human Knowledge Affairs, and the presentation of samples of the collection of the Al-Kafeel Museum of the treasures and manuscripts. The pavilion included a bunch of publications, magazines and other free publications distributed to the attendees of the pavilion.
