The closing ceremony was held at the service complex hall of Sheikh al-Kulayni of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in the presence of a large elite of Iraqi scientific, academic and research figures, in addition to officials and members of the board of directors of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, led by its senior official; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi and its Secretary General Eng. Mohamad al-Ashigar. The ceremony started by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and reading Surat al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, and then listening to the Iraqi National anthem and the anthem of the holy shrine.
Then Dr. Abbas al-Ddadah, a member of the board of directors of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, said: "The innovation and the Iraqi mind are inextricably linked, and they are certainly present by force." He also called for reconsidering existing legislation according to the need of Iraqi inventors and their reality as well as the necessity of allocating an appropriate financial budget to them.
The ceremony continued by a speech by the Scientific Committee of the Conference and Exhibition, in which the final communiqué was stated by the committee member Dr. Khaled Ajami explaining: "In this exhibition, approximately 380 patents were presented from which 85 patents and industrial models were selected. The process of evaluation for the selection of the quality patent that is possible to apply, and which actually mimics the Iraqi reality and treats its concerns..."
Dr. Khaled Ajami then read the recommendations of the conference and exhibition.
This was followed by the announcement of the first winners of the exhibition of inventors according to each specialization. There were three winners in each of the following categories: medical, health and health science, engineering, agricultural and applied sciences.
The ceremony was then concluded by the distribution of the medals for the winners and then honoring the participants in the exhibition as well as the committees organizing and supporting the conference and the exhibition.
