The Department of Religious Affairs holds a seminar and a discussion session on women in the Islamic perspective.

As part of its educational and guidance program, the Department of Religious Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine organized a seminar and an enlarged discussion session on "Woman in the Islamic Perspective" for a number of students of the Faculty of Dentistry at Al-'Ameed University in cooperation with the Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Guidance in the University.

The seminar was attended by the dean of the Faculty Prof. Bassem Zouin and a group of professors and teachers.

The seminar was presented by Sayed Ibrahim Al-Husseini from the said department, enumerating a number of issues related to the title. He pointed out that the Islamic religion made a quantum leap in dealing with women after being treated in a different way, by honoring her and giving her rights and duties as a mother, a sister, a wife or a daughter, to ensure that she has a good life in a manner that was not seen in the religions and civilizations that preceded Islam.

The seminar also discussed many religious topics for the youth in general and university students in particular, such as religious matters related to medical specialities and their ethics. This session included a discussion between the students, while Sayed al-Hussayni answered to their questions and explained what needed more explanation.

At the end of the session, a quiz was conducted and the winner student was honored by the deanship of the faculty.
