As a continuation of the previous successful editions, the al-Abbas's (p) Holy shrine represented by the Division of University Relations in the Department of Public Relations, has launched within the al-Kafeel national project for youth, the fourth edition of the national competition of public speaking for the middle school students of the education directorate of south and center of Iraq, on Thursday morning the 20th of Rajab 1440 AH corresponding to March 28, 2019 in the Hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) for the conferences and seminars at the holy shrine, in the presence of representatives of the directorates of education in addition to the participants and their families, as well as some media representatives and other guests.
The qualification ceremony, which was held with the participation of 45 students from ten provinces: Baghdad, Karbala, Najaf, Qadisiyah, Basrah, Wasit, Dhi Qar, Babylon, Muthanna and Maysan, started by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by listening to the national Iraqi anthem and then the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and reading Surat al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq.
Then Sheikh Salah al-Karbala'i, head of the Religious Affairs Department delivered the word of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.
Then there was a word of the jury of the competition, which was assigned by the supervising committee to choose the best among the participating students according to the standards of the art of rhetoric, which was delivered by Dr. Saeed Hameed Kadhem.
The participating students started then making successively their presentations, after the conduct of a draw. The competition will continue for two days, by two sessions on the first day and the closing ceremony on the second day to announce the names of the winners.
