The opening of the fifteenth edition of the Karbala International Book Fair.

In continuation of its previous success, the fifteenth edition of the Karbala International Book Fair, organized within the World Cultural Festival of the Martyrdom Spring, held by the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), which will be starting on the third of the great month of Sha'ban, was opened in the square between the two holy shrines.

The inauguration of the fair was held in the presence of the Senior Official of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) Holy Shrine; Sheikh Abd al-Mahdi al-Karbala'i, the Deputy Secretary General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; Engineer Abbas Musa Ahmad and a number of members of the Board of Directors of the two holy shrines as well as the visitors.

After cutting the opening ribbon, the attendees had a tour in its pavilions to see the publications exhibited in this fifteenth edition of the fair.

The Director of the Fair; Dr. Mushtaq Abbas Ma'an al-Ali, explained to Al-Kafeel Network: "This first opening of the fair aims to give more time to the publishing houses to present their publications, as this edition witnessed the participation of 8 countries; USA, Lebanon, Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, Syria and Jordan, in addition to the host country. This edition will be comprehensive and integrated in terms of the specializations of the presented books. The supervising committee of the fair has taken the necessary procedures to prevent the presentation of any book that affects the sovereignty of Iraq, raises sectarianism, attacks religious symbols or deal with unethical aspects."

Highlighting: "The participations in the pavilions were either direct participation or through accredited agencies, whether they are academic institutions, universities, research centers, study centers, publishing houses for children, space production institutions, publishing houses, or distribution centers. There was also, participation of the holy shrines from inside and outside Iraq, as well as the Shiite and Sunni Waqf Endowments. "

The opening ceremony was attended by the al-Kafeel Scout Association of the Childhood and Youth Division at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, which urged on the importance of reading and love the homeland.
