A Poetic ceremony to celebrate the winners of the poetic contest held within the Festival of the Martyrdom Spring in the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

In the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), a Poetic ceremony was held to celebrate the poets winners from inside and outside Iraq, of the poetic contest organized within the activities of the fourth day of the World Cultural Festival of the Martyrdom Spring in its 15th edition. The poetic celebration was held on Friday the 6th Sha'ban 1440 AH corresponding to April 12, 2019, in the hall of Prophets (peace be upon them) in the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

The ceremony, which witnessed the presence of the representatives of the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), started by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the Egyptian reader Adli Abu Mustafa, followed by the word of the jury of the contest delivered by Sheikh Fadhl Mkhaddar, in which he explained the following:

First: Most of the poems that came to the competition committee met the contest's conditions.

Second: Most of the poems that were nominated were strong poems in the poetic sense and at the technical level.

Thirdly: The poems that have been judged have reached one hundred and nine poems, more than thirty poems of which have reached the final stage.

Fourth: This number of poems in the final stage indicates the convergence of results, as the difference between them was almost non-existent.

Fifth: The eloquence in reading the poem was adopted in this competition as a principle of arbitration, and it is the first time in Iraq to follow this principle, which had a serious and effective role in resolving the results more accurately.

Sixth: We commend all the participants and confirm that the real victory is writing a poetic text about Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and as a committee, we consider that the convergence of poems in the technical level is a real indication of the future phase of generations of the Hussayni poem.

He pointed out: "We propose to the management of the festival to print the winning poems in a special book, to be a documentation of the competition and an archive that can be used when needed in all scientific and rhetorical fields."

Then the names of the ten winning poems with the names of their poets were announced, each of them presented his/her poem chanting the love of the beloved grandson of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household).

The winners' names were as follows:
