The governor of Maysan, Ali Douai, confirmed that the al-Abbas's (peace be upon him) Fighting Squad was the first to respond to the call of relief from the local government, and the first to arrive in the city and provided mechanism, relief and humanitarian aid, and that the Squad achieved good results and ward off the danger of water for the people and many areas and villages and cities.
He said in a statement singled out by the central media of the Squad and seen by the al-Kafeel Network: "The province of Maysan was in need of specialized mechanisms to help it in the face of floods, which was provided by the engineering unit of the al-Abbas's (peace be upon him) Fighting Squad, which arrived in the province early and entered into the crisis cell in Important areas affected by water and floods, including the Nahiat al-Salam, and al-Maymunah district, and later transferred to the area of Ali Al-Sharqi, to achieve very large and good results by warding off the risk of water from the people.
He pointed out that it also supervised in cooperation with the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine on the distribution of aid through the process of logistical support to affected families in coordination with the Government of Maysan and the departments concerned, noting that the Squad filled important aspects of relief and accommodation.
The Governor expressed his thanks and appreciation to all those working in the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine for supporting the province in its crisis.
It is worth mentioning that the supervisor of the al-Abbas's (peace be upon him) fighting squad, Sheikh Maitham Al-Zaidi, arrived yesterday in Maysan province to direct the field supervision of the engineering effort sent by the leadership a few days ago to assist the government effort in facing the dangers of floods and rising water levels.
