The Department of the Sanctuary of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) announces its readiness to receive visitors and provide spiritual atmosphere for the Ziyarat rituals.

Like the rest of the departments of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the department of the sanctuary [maqam] of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) announced its readiness to receive the visitors of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) on the eve of the 15th of Sha'ban; celebrating the birthday of the savior of mankind, the Master of the time and order (may our souls and the souls of both worlds be a redemption for the soil of his arrival), preparing all that is possible to create an atmosphere of faith and spirituality to perform the rituals in this great occasion.

The employees of the Maqam are harnessing all their efforts to provide security and organizational services and everything that would make the visitors perform their rituals with ease. The preparations for this great occasion started early, like is the case in each year, by preparing the halls of the Maqam for both men and women, as well as the expansion and creation of shoe and depository spaces.

They also provided safe drinking water, places of prayer and Ziyarat, provision of healthy toilets and the allocation of a Minbar outside the shrine to recite the special Ziyarat of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn on this blessed night, in addition to the religious guidance about the importance and the reward of the Ziyarat on this day, and educating young people to abide by the ethics of the Ziyarat.

It is to note that this night takes its honor, holiness and sanctity from the birth of the great savior, the promised hope, the aspired good, the interpreter of the Quran, the Imam of humans and Jinns, the Master of the Advent, the Imam of the Order, our Master the awaited Al-Mahdi son of Al-Hassan (may our souls and the souls of both worlds be a redemption for the soil of his arrival).

And it is noteworthy that Maqam of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) is located on the left bank of the current Hussayniya River at the northern entrance of Karbala in the area of Bab al-Salamah. It is located 650 m north of the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). This place was named after the awaited Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance), as it is said that he had prayed in this place and then left to perform the Ziyarat of his grandfather Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

This place is considered to be one of the most important shrines in Karbala for its connection with the Imam al-Mahdi (Allah hasten his holy reappearance), which made it an important place and an important part of the rituals of the Ziyarat of Sha'ban, which is one of the most important Ziyarat of Karbala.
