An Iraqi medical team at the al-Kafeel Hospital ends the suffering of a child of nine months instead of travelling abroad.

As part of the series of successes achieved by the al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in carrying out surgical operations in various specialties, and Iraqi medical team managed a successful and unique process, extracting a renal tumor to a nine months baby, ending his suffering and the suffering of his family without having to travel abroad to seek the treatment.

The head of the medical team, Dr. Sarmad al-Rubaie, a pediatric surgery specialist, said: "A quality surgical operation was conducted to a 9-month-old baby who was diagnosed with a tumor in the right kidney, with success"

Explaining: "The tumor is of the type (Wilms' tumor) that was attached to the main blood vessels in the abdomen and extends down and inside the right ureter."

Al-Rubaie said: "As soon as we received the case, a surgical team was formed under our chairmanship and all the necessary tests and preparations were carried out. The surgical procedure, which lasted about one and a half hours, was completed successfully after the tumor was completely removed without bleeding or any other complications."

For his part, the father of the child expressed his thanks and gratitude to the doctor and all the staff in the hospital, praising the medical and nursing services and other services provided to him, indicating: "This surgery has ended the suffering of the child, and we have reviewed several hospitals inside Iraq to no avail. Stressing that the baby must be taken out of Iraq to conduct this surgery, and after our review of the al-Kafeel hospital, the surgery was conducted successfully, and now my child is in good health and we went out home one day after the operation."
