The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine starts the al-Kafeel Youth Competition for the Scientific Creativity of University students.

In order to value the scientific creations of students of Iraqi universities and institutes and youth talents and to give the opportunity to creative energies to contribute to building a better Iraq, the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held within the al-Kafeel National Project for Youth, the second annual al-Kafeel Youth Competition for the Scientific Creativity for students of Iraqi universities and institutes of medical and engineering specialties.

The competition opening ceremony was held on Wednesday May 1 2019 corresponding to 25th Sha'ban 1440 AH at the al-'Ameed University of Al-'Ameed in the presence of a large government and academic figures representing the presidents and deans of various universities and colleges in Iraq, as well as the delegation of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine represented by a number of members of its distinguished board of directors.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, and then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine "Pride's tune".

This was followed by the speech of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by a member of its Board of Directors, Dr. Abbas Rashid Al Moussawi.

Followed by the speech of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research delivered by its representative, the head of the supervision and scientific assessment, Dr. Nabil al-A'raji.

And then the speech of the resident committee for creative scientific research was delivered by the Director of Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Higher Education Dr. Yusuf Khalaf, who praised the role played by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which support the researchers and their research projects.

The ceremony also included presenting a documentary film about the al-Kafeel Youth Competition for scientific creativity in its first edition.

The attendees then headed to the opening of the exhibition of the scientific productions, including 68 productions of 38 Iraqi universities of all the country.
