Coinciding with the holy month of Ramadhan, the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine represented by the Religious Affairs Department distributed food baskets to the families of the martyrs of the security forces and the popular mobilization within its program to support the families of the martyrs of Iraq who sacrifices their lives to protect Iraq and its holy sites. The food baskets were also distributed to the poor and needy families in Karbala and its suburbs.
The head of the Religious Affairs Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sheikh Salah al-Karbalai stated to al-Kafeel Network: "This initiative is part of the program of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine during the holy month of Ramadhan. This distribution is part of a large and comprehensive program that includes the organization of successive visits to the wounded and the families of the martyrs in all areas of Iraq without exception, in order to fulfill their needs and to honor them. This program was launched in response to the directives of the supreme religious authority to contribute to alleviating the burden of these families."
He also pointed out that: "The food basket contains a variety of food needed by the fasting person in this holy month, such as cereals, oils and legumes, as well as meat. These families asked the staffs supervising this initiative to convey their greetings and prayers to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine."
It is noteworthy that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has prepared a program to honor the families of the martyrs since the inception of the fatwa of sufficient duty of Jihad and to this day, working to honor and care of thousands of families on the instructions of the Supreme Religious Authority and to sustain the momentum of the fight against criminal gangs.
