The most important points stated by the Supreme Religious Authority in the second sermon of Friday prayer

The supreme religious authority stated in the second sermon of Friday prayer of the 25th of the holy month of Ramadhan 1440 AH corresponding to May 31, 2019, which was held in the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and led by his eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, important moral and educational points in relation to our reality, such as:

  • Today, we will talk about violence, which is one of the negative phenomena practiced in today’s society, and how savage and uncivilized it is.
  • The situation may develop into a case of forced persuasion.
  • The violence and rudeness are nowadays practiced to solve some issues.
  • Violence is not the ideal way to solve a problem; it actually worsens it.
  • Now we can see bosses mistreat their employees and husbands mistreat their wives.
  • The education of our children is important.
  • There are families that prevent their children from playing in the dirt, but they let them watch inappropriate materials on TV and the internet, such as scenes of killing, robbery, and theft.
  • There are a lot of misconceptions in our society; some fathers see their sons fight, and they think it is of bravery
  • Bravery can’t be measured by one’s muscles.
  • It is important for fathers to teach their children ethics and respect for one another.
  • Many hybrid educational methods were exported to us from other countries
  • The respected countries try to protect their communities from violence.
  • It is good to be opened to the other cultures, but we should not be affected by everything they export to us.
  • We express dismay over gun shootings on occasions.
  • Such act terrifies people and is an act of violating the neighbors’ right to quiet enjoyment of their homes. This is not our culture to express joy and happiness.
  • Many talks about others doing wrong acts, while the same person do the same kind of actions and things get worse with the use of internet.
  • We are calling the families and schools to keep children away from anything that provokes violence, especially social media, which is also a source of distraction.
  • Today’s young people view life dark, and some of them might violate ethics standards and seek to gain money in no time and in case of loss.
  • They despair and might suicide in many cases.
  • We need to encourage young people and instil hope and optimism in them and help them realize that there is a promising life ahead of them.
  • Everyone is responsible, especially the government who must achieve immunity for the society.
  • Our families have also the responsibility of educating the children.
  • Violence has nothing to do with courage.
  • It is more linked to jungle law than to humanity.
  • Courage is the manliness and the ability to face hardships with patience and wisdom.
  • Only the coward who resort to violence.
