This statement came on the basis of the timetable of the crescent moons published on the website of the Office of the Supreme Religious Authority; The Eminence Sayed Ali al-Sistani in Najaf, stating:

It is expected that the crescent moon of the month of Shawwal will be seen on the evening of Tuesday 29th of the month of Ramadan, 1440 AH corresponding 4th of June, 2019 with the possibility of seeing it with the naked eye if the sky is clear in the holy city of Najaf and at sunset at 7:05 pm. And the elevation from the horizon 11 degrees and 39 minutes.

The duration of its stay after the sunset is of one hour and 2 minutes, with a proportion of the moon's light of 1.81%, and in this case, the moon sighting is expected to be of weakly visibility.

It is noteworthy that these calculations according to the times of the crescent moon do not represent the opinion of the religious authority, but are merely astronomical expectations, because the beginning of the lunar months depend on the confirmation of the vision of the crescent moon, so we hope that all the faithful will monitor the crescent moons according to the data mentioned in this brochure and inform us of vision if possible, And do not forget us in their prayers.
