The Department of Religious Affairs participates in educational courses for pilgrims.

After passing the tests prepared for them, which qualified them to be religious guides to the pilgrims' convoys, the religious affairs department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine participated in the educational and guidance courses organized by the Hajj and Umrah Department in the holy province of Karbala for pilgrims coming to perform the Hajj this year.
Sheikh Haidar al-'Aredhi of the said department and one of the participants in these courses, explained: "As the pilgrimage season approached and the pilgrims prepared for their spiritual journey, the Guidance and Research Department of the Hajj and Umrah Authority through its branch in the holy province of Karbala, started a number of courses to educate the pilgrims about Hajj rituals, according to a schedule set by the Department by 12 theoretical and practical lectures for each pilgrims' convoy, which will continue in the Holy Land, including different topics, in order to the briefing of the pilgrims about all these rituals, and to ensure that they perform Hajj rituals without errors."
