Celebrating the marriage anniversary of Lady Om al-Baneen and the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon both of them).

The narrators differed from those who chronicled the life of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in the date of marriage of Imam Ali with the immaculate lady Om al-Baneen (peace be upon both of them), but this was not a reason not to explore and search for the date of this great occasion even if it will be an approximate date. This led some of the lovers of Om al-Baneen (peace be upon her) to explore and analyse history to find the date of this blessed marriage; 2nd of Dhu al-Qi'dah. Therefore, they are celebrating this anniversary at the shrine of her beloved son Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) with support and care from servants of his holy shrine.

Celebrating this anniversary, which was titled (the founding ceremony of the first annual festival of the marriage of Om al-Baneen and Imam Ali - peace be upon him), was held in the hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine. The celebration started by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader of the two holy shrines; Haj Mustafa al-Sarraf.

This was followed by a speech by the head of the organizing body of this celebration; Mr. Sa'd Ali Hussein from Noor al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) foundation, in which he showed how they investigated history to figure out the approximate date of this occasion, and how they calculated the time period between the birth of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the period before it. He also referred to the status of Om al-Baneen (peace be upon her) and how she became a door of intercession to the Almighty God for the believers.

Then poets and radoods contributed with their poems and stanzas about this blessed anniversary. They are:

The poet Rida al-Khafaji.

The poet Mohammed al-Fatimi.

The poet Odeh Dahi.

The radood Hussein al-'Akili.

The poet Haider al-Moallem.

The radood Fa'ez al-Mayali.

The poet Imad al-'Issawi.

The radood Dea' Badr.
