Iraqi Defense Minister briefed on the achievements of Abbas's (p) Fighting Squad in his inspection visit.

On the morning of the 1st of Dhu al-Hijjah 1440 AH corresponding to August 3, 2019, the Iraqi Minister of Defense Najah Al-Shammari visited the headquarters of the al-Abbas (peace be upon him) Fighting Squad in an inspection visit to review its most important achievements on the battlefield, technology and intellectual levels, as well as to be briefed about the future visions of the Squad.

The Supervisor of the al-Abbas's (p) Fighting Squad; sheikh Maitham al-Zaidi stated: "We are pleased to receive the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Defense, Mr. Najah Al-Shammari, in the headquarters of al-Abbas (peace be upon him) fighting squad, during which he was briefed about the time periods of founding the squad and the achievements and vision of the squad both in the past and in the future."

He added: "We have shown him some of the efforts of the squad at all levels, including the al-Kafeel tank, explaining the technical and technological changes by the commander of the 9th Armored Division, who also outlined the characteristics and abilities of this tank. His excellency also have seen all the capabilities of the squad because it is the potential of the Iraqi state and the Iraqi army, in the service of our armed forces."

It should be noted that the al-Abbas's (p) fighting Squad, 26th brigade of the popular mobilization, has participated in most of the battles to liberate the land of Iraq from the terrorist ISIL gangs, and was assigned combat duties in which it demonstrated the merit and ability in the field, gained through military exercises, as well as being armed with determination and faith inspired from the commander of the army of Imam al-Hussayn; Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), making its heroes fight with courage and bravery in the battles, giving many martyrs and wounded fighters.
