Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital holds its first forum to honor the pioneers of medicine in Iraq.

The first forum to honor the pioneers of medicine in Iraq held by the administration of the al-Kafeel Super-Speciality Hospital under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, was held in the Hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) for conferences and symposiums in the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine on Friday 14th Dhu al-Hijjah 1440 AH corresponding to August 16, 2019, amid large media and academic presence.

The ceremony, which was attended by the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shirne; His eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, its General Secretary Eng. Mohamad al-Ashigar, as well as a number of the members of its Board of Directors began by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and then reading Surat al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by listening to Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy shrine; "Tune of pride". Then Dr. Abbas Rashid al-Mussawi, a member of the board of directors of the holy shrine, delivered the word of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.

This was followed by the speech of the Iraqi Ministry of Health, which was delivered by its representative Dr. Amer Abdul-Sadah, in which he stated: "This forum is part of the historical march of the holy shrines, and especially the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, by adopting health projects that care for the life of citizens in form of medical services, starting by the al-Kafeel Super-Speciality Hospital, especially within the challenges of the health situation in Iraq as a result of the difficult circumstances the country has faced in recent decades."

Then came the speech of the President of the Iraqi Medical Association, Dr. Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, who expressed his thanks and gratitude to the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, and then stated: "The doctors of Iraq today are working in inadequate conditions and bear the failure of successive governments to provide the appropriate climate for their work. Doctors are now working in the midst of a shortage of medical supplies to treat patients, as well as poor planning in administration and corruption. Many are honorable doctors who have served their homeland in the harshest conditions, and sacrificing their blood along with their brothers in the security forces on the front lines."

This was followed by a speech delivered by the Director of Al-Kafeel Super-Speciality Hospital, delivered by its Director, Dr. Jassim Ibrahimi.

The program also included a screening of a documentary film about Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital and its services during the previous years. The forum was concluded by honoring a number of medical leaders in Iraq of great medical stature.
