The people of Karbala lit candles and shed tears to commemorate the seven day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

If your family and lovers could not come to your grave on the seventh day after your martyrdom in the year 61 AH, O Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn! And if no candle was lit on it, and no funeral was held. The people of the holy city of Karbala commemorate the seventh day of the martyrdom of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) with a great unified procession that gathers the figures of the old city, which is a tradition that the people of the city used to do every year on this occasion. It was launched after the Isha prayer of the 17th of Muharram 1441 AH, recalling the calamities on Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her).

The procession headed to the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), after that visiting the shrine of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) carrying candles, recalling the impact of such night on the heart of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her). Once they entered to the holy sanctuary a funeral Majlis was head, led by Sheikh Baha' al-Karbala'i the son of Sheikh Hadi Al-Karbalai; the late preacher of Karbala, followed by the radood Abd al-Amir al-Amawi, in the council they mentioned the servants of the Hussayni march of the rawadeed, preachers and poets who have a major role in the revival of these Hussayni occasions.

It is noteworthy that the impact of the great at-Taf tragedy is great for all souls of the free people, and that the commemoration of its anniversary is closely linked to the hearts of the lovers of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). Therefore everyone is psychologically, physically, mentally and emotionally prepared for the revival of these rituals in which the feelings and emotions are translated into actual practice.

The rituals begins with the entry of the symbolic caravan (Hawdaj/ Hawdah) of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) to Karbala on the second day of the holy month of Muharram, recalling all the events of that day. And continues until the peak day; the tenth (Ashura) in which all efforts are intensified from the night of the ninth to the last hours of the night. Then the preparations follow for the thirteenth of the month, which is called the "Third of the Imam" commemorating the burial of the holy bodies, followed by the seventeenth of the month, called "Seventh of the Imam", in which the processions head to renew their condolences on this sad day.
