Medical Evacuation Unit at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine organizes a workshop for Emergency Medical Evacuation of the Ziyarat Arba'een 1441 AH.

The Medical Evacuation Unit of the Department of Medicine in the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held this Friday 20th Muharram 1441 AH corresponding to September 20, 2019, a workshop on the emergency medical evacuation of the blessed Ziyarat Arba'een 1441 AH, to put the mechanism of the work of medical detachments, in addition to the distribution of centers for the rescuing teams and the coordination with voluntary groups, and how to deal with crises and emergencies and delegate powers to group leaders.

The workshop was inaugurated by reciting verses from the Holy Quran and then the word of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, delivered by Sheikh Adel Al-Wakeel, in which he stated: "The Ziyarat Arba'een is certainly one of the largest human gatherings in the world. Therefore, many services are required. Thus since that the organization of these service is in the hand of the holy shrines in 2003, serving the visitor became the most important work of all the staff of the holy shrines, in order to provide him/her with the possible services to facilitate the performance of the Ziyarat rituals.

And the duty of this unit, which is medical evacuation is not an easy one for its great dimension in order to provide the best services to visitors, especially in the Ziyarat of millions. "

Then an introductory video on the work of the Medical Division in previous years was then presented, showing their services and first aid to visitors.

Then came the speech of the medical division delivered by the head of the division, Dr. Osama Abdel-Hassan, in which he explained: "The purpose of this workshop is to coordinate and organize a medical team that includes the largest number of volunteers from the holy city of Karbala and the rest of the provinces, in addition to drawing lessons from the previous years of the Ziyarat Arba'een, especially inside the holy shrines in Karbala, And to put a plan according to the data of the previous cases. There is a great need of coordination to accommodate these large numbers of visitors, especially those inside the holy shrines, in addition to the exchange of experiences between the various medical teams ".

For his part, Board Member of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Moussawi confirmed to the al-Kafeel Global Network: "This workshop falls within the preparations of the Holy Shrine to receive the visitors of Ziyarat Arba'een, so we need a health system in an exceptional situation where millions of crowds of visitors gather in this place. In addition to coordinating the work of the medical teams, especially the voluntary teams coming from different regions. So, we must develop an organizational plan to ensure the best possible services."

It is worth mentioning that a number of representatives of the health departments in the holy city of Karbala and the rest of the provinces participated in this workshop, as well as representatives of the departments of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine who have direct contact with the masses of visitors.
