Restoration of a historical Quran of more than 200 years in the Center for the Restoration and Conservation of Manuscripts.

The Center for the Restoration and Conservation of Manuscripts of the Library and House of Manuscripts at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced a new achievement; as the Center has recently finished the restoration of a historical Quran dated of the twelfth year AH, which was owned by the library of the mosque of Sheikh Tusi in the province of Najaf, which contains rare manuscripts, including this Quran, which is one of the important historical Qurans.
Therefore, in order to preserve it after that factors of time and years had a big impact on its pages, it was restored according to the latest mechanisms of restoration.
The Director of the Center, Mr. Laith Ali Hussein explained to the al-Kafeel Network, saying: "Based on the words of the Commander of the Faithful Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them): (The Zakat of science is its publication), and with the aim of cooperation and joint work and exchange of expertise between our center and other centers and library institutions, the staff of our Center has performed this work, which is added to our previous achievement series, both inside and outside the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, in order to perpetuate and preserve the valuable heritage of rare books and manuscripts. ”
He added: "This Quran was renovated according to the latest methods and mechanisms of restoration used globally, and the distortions that hit its pages have been removed very accurately without affecting the origin of the manuscript, while preserving its identity and the historical indications it contains. As after we conducted careful examination and analysis of the manuscript to determine the size of the damage, we started the work we did in record time, making also a computer version of this Quran to preserve its origin."
