The ceremony, which witnessed a large attendance of academic figures, researchers and specialists from inside and outside Iraq, in addition to the presence of delegations representing the holy shrines and other religious and institutional institutions, and a large gathering of students of the university and of other faculties affiliated with it, began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and then reading Surat al-Fatiha in honor of the martyrs of Iraq.
This was followed by a welcoming speech by the Chairman of the Supreme Commission for the Hilla Project, the city of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), Eng. Hassan Ali al-Hili, who stated: ""Today, the International Scientific Conference of Imam al-Hassan al-Mojtaba (peace be upon him) enters its sixth year in a row, marking the way to revive the thought of this Imam, who confronted the Khilafah in the most difficult and darkest circumstances and fought on more than one side, the hand of the ungrateful who do not know the right of the Imam and the Imamate, and faced the hateful enemies who refused following the Book of God and the Sunnah of his Prophet and Messenger. And hence from the land of this great edifice - University of Babylon -, we welcome the dear guests in the city of Hillah city of Imam al-Hassan al-Mojtaba (peace be upon him)! And all thanks to the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) for sponsoring all the events that we hold in the name of Imam al-Hassan al-Mojtaba (peace be upon him) and for their great and unlimited support to us."
Then came the speech of the Secretariats of the Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), delivered by the Deputy Head of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; Sayed 'Aqeel Abdul-Hussein Al-Yasiri, in which he highlighted the importance of the peaceful coexistence in our daily lives, stating: "We are in dire need to live with each other and while accepting each other's differences, as this was the righteous approach of the Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) and of the imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), including Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him)."
Then came the speech of the Deanship of the Faculty of Education for Humanities / University of Babylon, delivered by Prof. Dr. Riyad Tariq Al-Ameedi, in which he stated: "The Scientific Committee has been keen on the specialization of this conference on the knowledge side and not as general as previous years, so the Committee chose the linguistic and historical Orientalist dimensions to be the axes of the conference in these two dimensions."
HE added: "The Scientific Committee has received thirty-nine researches from different universities in Iraq as well as 7 researches from other countries, five of which were accepted, while 24 researches were accepted from inside Iraq, making a total of twenty-nine accepted researches. And because of the large number of research submitted in English, the committee has to devote a special axis to it, which is based on its diversity, and all of this is in the service of our great heritage in general and the heritage of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in particular.
Then there was a lecture by the guest of honor, Dr. Ahmed Al-Saffar, in which he dealt with several axes, including the Orientalists ideology that worked on beautifying their ideas to convince other that they are true and useful, in addition to the distortion of ideas that they intended to remove from the hearts of the nation, and finally accusing the sacred. Then the activities of the research sessions began.
It is noteworthy that the conference is held annually by the Supreme Commission for the project of Hilla city of Imam al-Hassan al-Mojtaba (peace be upon him), coinciding with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and under the auspices of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), in cooperation with the College of Education for Humanities / University of Babylon and the College of Education / University of Dhi Qar , The al-'Ameed University, and the International al-'Ameed Center for Research and Studies of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, and the Al-Mortadha Foundation for Culture and Guidance.
