During these days, the believers commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the savior and guide of mankind, the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and his holy Household), who was martyred on Monday 28th of Safar in the year 11 AH at the age of 63 years after being given a deadly poison, according to the famous narrations.
Therefore, the crowds of visitors head from all Iraqi provinces including the holy city of Karbala to the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful; Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them) in Najaf to extend their condolences for the martyrdom anniversary of his brother and cousin; the Master of all creations, the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household).
Crowds of visitors determined to commemorate this sad occasion, have travelled from many provinces and regions, most of them on foot, to Najaf. A large number of foreign visitors who did not leave Iraq since the Ziyarat Arba'een, the beginning of last week, have participated along the Iraqis in extending their condolences to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).
It is worth mentioning that the martyrdom anniversary of the Seal of Prophets and messengers; Mohammad Ibn Abdillah (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) was on 28th of Safar in the year 11 AH, and he was then 63 years old. And the narrations have urged on performing the Ziyarat of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them) to extend their condolences to him on the martyrdom anniversary of his beloved brother and cousin the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household).
