The Service Affairs Department conducts periodic maintenance of mobile umbrellas installed outside the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

The technical staff of the Service Affairs Department conducted regular maintenance of the mobile umbrellas installed and deployed outside the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), which are used by visitors to hide from the sun in the summer and rain in the winter.

Maintenance has included many works, including:

- Replacement of the covering exterior parts of the umbrella with new pieces.

- Lubrication of the moving joints of the umbrella.

- Replacing the damaged and defective parts in the engines of these umbrellas while perpetuating the good ones.

- Painting the metal parts.

It is worth mentioning that each of these umbrellas cover an area of ​​36m2, and are of a Turkish origin and high specifications, as they are made of Teflon material that is flammability, ultraviolet and atmospheric factors resistance. The measures of each umbrella is of 6m x 6m and of 3.5m height.

These umbrellas have certain times to open and close them according to the weather conditions on a daily basis. This work is carried out by a specialized unit of the Department of Service Affairs, in addition to taking the umbrellas' cloth and sending it to the washing plant belonging to the holy shrine, for the purpose of washing it and then return to place.
