The al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine is covered with black to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatima (peace be upon her).

To mark the start of the sorrows season of the sad martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatima Az-Zahra (peace be upon her), the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine was covered with black to announce the mourning in this great occasion. Black banners were raised, red LEDs were lighted out of respect of this painful occasion and to present the condolences to the Holy Prophet and his Holy Household (Allah's prayers be upon them).

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine prepared as usual in every year, a condolence program that includes several activities, such as delivering religious lectures and holding condolence Majlis for commemorating this occasion, in addition to declaring its readiness to receive the condolence processions from inside and outside the holy city of Karbala, that comes to present their condolences to Imam Al-Hussayn and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them).

It is worth mentioning that there is no specific date for her martyrdom anniversary (peace be upon her), so the faithful commemorate it every year in various dates (taking into account the various narrations about it), and these days are called "The Fatimi sorrows season".
