The closing ceremony of the Karbala Competition for Hussayni Radodd with the participation of 75 contestants.

The Karbala Competition for the Hussayni Radood for the emerging and youth talents held by Karbala Poets and Radood Body under the patronage of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in cooperation with the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs and the Department of Hussayni Rites and Processions at the holy shrine, was concluded on Wednesday evening July 18, 2018 corresponding to 3rd of Dhu al-Qi'dah 1439 AH.

The closing ceremony of this competition, which lasted for four days with the participation of 75 contestants from the holy province of Karbala, was held in the Hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him). The ceremony started by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the Reader of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Badr Mamithah, followed by the word of the Secretariat General of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which was delivered by Sheikh Ali Mohan, in which he highlighted the importance of serving Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) through the recitation of elegies and poems to revive his matter, pointing out that serving Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) is the best of deeds to seek closeness to the Almighty Allah. He encouraged the participants by stressing that the path they are following is a great success in their life that will lead to the success in the Hereafter.

This was followed by the word of the Deputy Head of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs stressing on the importance of reviving the matter of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) through the establishing of councils and lectures that recall parts of their life, whether in the auspicious occasions of their birth, marriage or Eids, by the recitation of poems, eulogies and praise, or during the sad occasions of their martyrdom anniversaries by the establishment of condolences' councils, in which elegies and lamentations are recited. Sayed al-Yasiri pointed out that in such competitions the true winner is everyone who contribute in serving Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and therefore, it is important to take into consideration the good manners, the modest clothing and general appearance of the Radood in sign of respect to the sanctity of the rite that is for the service of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

Then the member of the Committee Radood Abd al-Amir al-Karbala'i delivered the word of the Jury of the competition, followed by some Hussayni elegies recited by the winner of the previous edition; Radood Ali al-Wa'eli. Then the members of the jury were honored:

1- Poet Adah Dhahi al-Karbala'i,

2- Poet and Radood Abd al-Amir al-Karbala'i.

30 Poet Abd al-Rasool Al-Khafaji,

4- Poet Mahdi Hilal al-Karbala'i,

5- Poet Feras al-Asdi al-Karbala'i.

Then the awards were distributed to the winners of the competition, (For more details, please click here) and the distribution of the participating certificates and some appreciation shields to some of the figures who had a role in the success of this competition provided by the Department of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
